He was preceded in death by his wife Carla by 5 months. We all know about the extraordinary achievements of Nissan in our field of nuclear physics. His last publications was the chapter "Giulio Racah and Theoretical Physics in Jerusalem" for the "History of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem" project which was also published in Archive for History of Exact Sciences , vol. 63, no. 3, pp. 289-323, 2009.
